The first time I came to the gym, I had been your basic gym rat. Move big weight, hop on the elliptical for half an hour, go home. Surely I could muscle my way through a Fit Pit workout. I was quickly proven wrong. It was so hard that it took a bet with a friend for me to go back. The bet was to see who could lose the highest percentage of body weight and inches off of his belly and legs. So, in order to win, I went to the one place that I knew would yield the best result.

Three months later, I had won the bet. I was twenty pounds lighter and I was on my way to bringing the other nine attributes of being a complete athlete up to meet my strength. Not only that, I was addicted. I had experienced, first hand, the results of hard work in the gym, and I was only just beginning to understand the role good nutrition played in my overall progress. Not only in my progress as an athlete but also as a healthy person in general. You never know how bad you've felt until you feel good.

Becoming healthier made me perform better in the gym, and it carried through to all aspects of my life. In the two years I've been a part of the gym, I've listened to my body, my coaches and my fellow gym members to learn how to become a better version of me. It's because of this community that when I was offered an opportunity to become an assistant, I couldn't say no. I want to help everyone who comes through the door to find the better version of themselves. I never stop learning and, with the community at the Fit Pit, we never stop learning how to become better, more complete athletes.
